Worcester Youth Chamber Orchestra & Ensembles
The WY Chamber Music Program is comprised of a small chamber orchestra (15-25 players) and smaller chamber groups (listed below). The groups alternate each week and cover a variety of chamber and small orchestra repertoire. Students have opportunities for solos and to work independently with their peers during rehearsals. Ensembles are coached by faculty throughout the semester. There are opportunities for additional recitals and performances and in the past have included services at First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury, First Unitarian in Worcester, Mechanics Hall and the City of Worcester Council Chambers.
Membership is open to any student in Symphony, Wind & Jazz Ensemble. Philharmonic members are eligible to join, but first must prepare a solo excerpt of their choice and audition before a member of the coaching faculty.
