
Patrick Chatham
Resident Teaching Artist, WY String Orchestra & Philharmonic

Patrick Chatham is currently the Junior High Strings Director at the Bancroft school in Worcester, and is currently a member of the Symphony Pro Musica Orchestra under conductor Mark Churchill. Patrick enjoys freelancing across New England, performing at weddings, school musicals, shows at the Hanover Theater, retirement homes, and private functions. He is currently a faculty member at the Worcester Music Academy and Thayer Conservatory where he gives private lessons. In addition, he works as a teaching artist with the Neighborhood Strings Program with the Worcester Chamber Music Society . Patrick served as principal cellist with the Worcester Youth Symphony Orchestra from 2015-2019 under the artistic executive director Jonathan Colby. He was also with the Worcester Youth Honors String Quartet and the Worcester Youth Baroque Orchestra from 2016-2019. Patrick studied cello with Betsy Bronstein in Worcester. From 2019-2020 he performed with the Worcester Polytechnic Institute Orchestra and Medwin quartet. Patrick was a Young Artist in Residence at the First Unitarian Church of Worcester from 2017-2019 as a soloist and with the honors string quartet. He has also attended the Global String Intensive Summer Program at Berklee College of Music twice and attended the New England Conservatory’s summer orchestra institute.
The Resident Teaching Artist Program is made possible through the Greater Worcester Community Foundation's Community Projects Grants. As a part of Patrick’s residency, he is assisting Rebecca Kelly's, elementary school strings teacher for the Quabbin Regional School District. Patrick is based primarily at Ruggles Lane Elementary in Barre.
