Viola Sectional Coach
Sylvia DiCrescentis has been teaching and performing on viola and violin throughout New England for 14 years. In 2013, she opened her teaching studio Vivo Strings in North Grafton, MA. Since then, she has expanded her studio to include other colleagues teaching piano, cello, bass and guitar. In 2016, she founded the Blackstone Valley String Quartet which performs throughout New England for events and concerts. Currently, Sylvia is a member of the viola section of the Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra. Sylvia has served as sectional coach for the Worcester Youth Orchestras for over a decade and chamber music director since 2022.
Sylvia started her study of violin at the age of 4, continuing to also study piano and ultimately become a violist. She grew up in the Blackstone Valley and received foundational music education from Whitinsville Christian School. She received her B.S. in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College.
Sylvia has a deep passion for chamber music as well as education. She is thrilled to help maintain and grow the chamber music offerings for the Worcester Youth Orchestras.
