WYO AT A GLANCE
Founded in 1947, the Worcester Youth Orchestras (WYO) have maintained an integral presence in Central Massachusetts for over 70 years. Drawing from over 65 Massachusetts communities, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, the orchestras are open to all aspiring young musicians studying their instruments in individual and/or school lessons. WYO is comprised of four orchestras, a jazz program, wind ensemble and chamber groups. Each season WYO produces 10-15 concerts welcoming more than 8,000 concertgoers.
WYO serves a highly diverse student population where more than 60% identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQI+ individuals. The organization prides itself on creating a welcoming, inclusive and belonging environment for all students, families and staff. Persons of diverse backgrounds, experiences and skills, and those who speak a second language (especially Spanish, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Cantonese) are strongly encouraged to apply.

Sectional Coaches Sub List (Paid per sectional)
Coaches lead students in monthly sectionals, reviewing music, bowings, articulations, rhythms and helping create an ensemble and orchestral sound. We are currently welcoming sub sectional coaches on all instruments to inquire about openings to coach the orchestras and bands. Please email the Artistic Director with your resume and cover letter.
